Covid-19 Information

At Acumen Care Services (ACS) the safety and well-being of our staff and clients is our foremost priority.

We have put in place a range of measures to ensure that all our staff are as safe as possible when working as ACS support workers. The extra procedures and practices that we have put in place are:


Personal Protective Equipment

We provide all our staff with the necessary protective equipment for them to be as safe as possible in the workplace whilst offering the greatest possible level of protection and assurance to the individuals they support.

Vacination Referrals

As an Acumen staff member, you will be classed as a ‘front-line key worker’. This means you have priority for a COVID-19 vaccination. If you desire, we can refer you for a COVID-19 vaccination immediately in order for you to be as safe as possible in work. 

Extra Covid -19 Precautions and safety Measures at each Setting

As well as the extra safety measures we have introduced, each care home and support setting will also have introduced a number of new safety procedures and practices to keep you and the support users as safe as possible. This includes:

  • Extra PPE for all staff
  • Regular, mandatory staff and support user temperature checks
  • Protective screens 
  • Facemasks and plastic face guards
  • Gloves
  • Hand sanitizer stations throughout each setting.
  • Dedicated entrance and exit throughway systems at each setting

Rapid Testing at Care Settings

All care staff can take part in rapid lateral flow tests at many care settings throughout wales to enhance their safety and give peace of mind.

Working in Partnership with Public Health Wales

We are currently working closely with public heath wales to make sure that we are following the most up-to-date guidelines for front-line staff working as support workers in Wales.

This also gives us real-time updates on any COVID-19 ‘hot areas’ or ‘flare ups’ and can then act accordingly to keep our staff safe.

Staff Bubbles and Locational Management

We are monitoring and managing the locations of our staff more tightly so that they only work in a small number of care settings. This is to limit the amount of other key workers and support users they come into contact with.  This gives greater security and sfety for our staff and the individuals around them.

Ongoing Support For All Staff

Our staff are on call 24hrs a day and are available for guidance and support for any and all issues our staff may face.
